Dr. Sharhonda Washington-Lewis is a General Dentist that grew up in Missouri City, Texas. By the start of her senior year in High School, she decided to attend the Xavier University of Louisiana to nurture further her goal of becoming a doctor. The Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, Louisiana, is known for educating a majority of minority doctors in the United States. In May 1993, Dr. Washington graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/PreMed.

After college graduation, Dr. Washington held a teaching position in the Houston area. She taught math and science to middle and high school students for 2 years. In August 1996, she entered the doors of Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry as a first-year dental student. Dr. Washington graduated from dental school in May 2000. Afterward, she was accepted into a General Practice Residency program at the Houston Veterans Administration Hospital in June 2000 and spent one year learning more details about the different dental specialties such as hospital dentistry, restorative, cosmetic dentistry, and oral surgery.

When her residency program was complete, she was selected out of many applicants to work at a community healthcare center in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was an associate dentist that treated indigent patients, which was definitely a rewarding career experience.

Dr. Washington moved back to Houston after her two-year associate position and pursued private practice dentistry. She became the owner of Allday Dental Associates in November 2006 and sustained that business until February 2020. She has now joined forces with a local company known as Sapphire Smiles Family Dentistry, where she is now a partner within the business model. Dr. Washington continues to treat children of all ages and adults.

In her free time, she enjoys visiting schools to speak about her dental career and educating the public on how to maintain proper oral hygiene.
